Nailed It – Miranda Kerr

I love how MK made this casual outfit luxe and cool.  Forget for a second that she has the cutest accessory around, her son Flynn, she still manages to look amazing every time she steps out of the house.  This pic is proof that you don’t have to be “dolled” up to look great.  She is sporting leggings and a hoodie, but what makes this look so great is the fact that she is rocking amazing trainers by Isabel Marant (my favorite designer) and wearing killer shades.  Also notice that because the shoes are rather flashy she has kept the rest of the look neutral and minimal.

Miranda you Nailed It!

Style Hub with Liv

Check out the snaps I took of Olivia in Lilly Lab gear at the ROM in Toronto.  It was wild… we met up, and got some shots and right when I said, “well that should be good enough, we can go now” it started to torrentially pour.  It was like we were given this small amount of time to create some magic and that was it.  No more, because more wouldn’t have been better.  The universe knows when enough is enough.  Liv is such a rad chick.  She is an aspiring actor and all ’round wow babe.

Want – Mary Katrantzou

Yesterday this stunner appeared on Colette’s instagram.  It’s by Mary Katrantzou.  I love the loose, A-line silhouette, and that it looks like it was stitched from many different fabrics.  If you have a cool$6k Euros it can be yours!

While lusting over this dress I noticed that Colette has updated their website.  After several years they decided to change the look and WOW is it nice.  Take a look for yourself.

Shots o the Week – 04.03.13

Some Instagram shots for you all.  Just messing around with daily life.  Hope you enjoy them.

Style Hub Men – The New Cowboy Boot

For all of you peeps who think cowboy boots can’t possibly be cool, check out NEEDLES / Needles version.  Yes men in Cowboy boots can be incredibly hot if executed properly.  I just imagine Bradley Cooper or David Beckham wearing a pointy toed pair with slim jeans and my mind starts to race.  However so many men have butchered the look by wearing too loose of pants with their cowboy boots and it just looks lame.  Trust me on this, I’ve been to enough Calgary Stampedes to vouch for this.

But the look above is what is new and cutting edge for men right now.  It’s not for every man, but it is for the man who wants to look really different and not get confused as the Marlboro man.  The key to the NEW COWBOY BOOT is:

1. A Rounded Toe – so it almost looks like a work boot, but it still has the stich design of a cowboy boot.

2. A low heel. Just stop already with the high heel boot.

3. Wearing slim fitted jeans that are rolled, preferably with some sort of detail on the cuff.  If you hadn’t already figured it out guys, you look hot in slim jeans, so just get on it already!

What She Should Have Worn – Vanessa Hudgens

Style Hub Men – Rick Owens Casual

Feel free to let your shirt hems and crotch drop and not in the Justin Bieber way, in the Rick Owens way.

Style Hub – High Waisted Skinny Jeans

It used to be that high waisted jeans were very 70s.  High waist and wide legs.  But now we are seeing this cool direction of the waist remaining high but the leg going super skinny.  I love this look.  It has a very effortless feel to it and to me that defines style.  So go give a pair a try!

Not Just For the Guys – 5 Panels

5 Panel hats are huge right now and have been for the past maybe 4 years on the guys, but I think it is super hot for girls to wear these interesting hats.  Granted they look best with strait hair, I’m sure there are some girls out their with curls who are rocking the 5 panel.  Supreme was one of the first to bring the hat to super stardom, though the logo can be a bit in your face.  For a more understated version look to Larose from Paris.  They use interesting fabrics as well.

WANT – Steven Tai Fall 2013

Things all of a sudden got real for Canadian fashion now that Steven Tai sent models down the #TFW runway for Fall 2013 in these spectacularly modern/sporty/fucking brilliant clothes.  Where the hell did this guy come from and why haven’t I heard of him before?  He has single handedly taken the often “drab” “safe” and “nothing special” stamp of Canadian Fashion and brought it to some next level shit.  I just want to kiss him, hug him and thank him for doing it!  Perhaps someone in the fashion world will take us seriously now.  If you ask me stores (ahem, Johnathan and Olivia wink wink nudge nudge) better get all over these clothes.  They are wearable and forward thinking, just what fashion should be.  Ugh!  I’m so proud and WANT EVERYTHING!!!  How perfect would these jackets, sweaties and trainers look rolling around on my skateboard?!  Squeal!!!!
